Here are answers to some of the most common questions we are asked by our students.

What kind of lease will I sign?

We offer an assured Shorthold tenancy, which is jointly signed between the housemates. Our leases are checked annually by the accommodation office, however if there is anything in there you are not happy with please let us know. An example can be downloaded here.

How do I view your houses?

Simple! Just give us a ring on 07900 217714 or 07787933454 and we will arrange a viewing. If you are stuck for transport or need directions we are happy to show groups around ourselves.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

Yes you do, but this is refundable providing there are no damages at the end of the lease. There is also a £100 admin fee per person to cover lease costs, guarantor admin etc.

Do your houses comply with DSU codes of standards?

Yes, all of our houses have annual gas safety checks, electrical certificates, and where required, HMO licences and full fire safety checks. We provide smoke alarms and CO2 detectors.

What about council tax?

As full time students you are currently exempt from paying council tax.

Who pays for gas and electricity?

Housemates as a group share the costs of heating water and lighting, but if you prefer to pay rent that includes these items we can easily arrange this for you.
